Bosch 36618-02 18-Volt 1/2-Inch Compact-Tough Litheon Drill/Driver with 2 Slim Batteries

Bosch is known by contractors and serious DIYers for its line of tough and durable power tools. The Bosch 36618-02 18-Volt 1/2-Inch Compact-Tough Litheon Drill/Driver certainly fits that bill. The power, compactness, and complimentary features all add up to a cordless drill/driver that can take on the challenge of nearly any task at the home or job site.
The Bosch 36618-02 is equipped with single-sleeve 1/2-inch chuck for one-handed bit changes. Also, the 1/2 inch chuck permits the use of a wider variety of drill bits. Precise drilling results can be achieved through the use of a 20 position clutch and a variable speed trigger.
Anyone who uses a cordless drill/driver on a regular basis is aware of the bulkiness of Ni-Cad battery packs. When the voltage of the drill increases, so does the size of the battery pack. However, lithium ion batteries power the Bosch 36618-02 . The slimmer Lithium-ion battery packs means less weight and bulk versus similar Ni-Cad-powered drills. If even longer run times are needed, a larger, higher capacity battery is available.
The ability to quickly swap out bits means finishing more tasks in less time. And thanks to the advancements in LED technology, Bosch has even equipped this drill/driver with a white LED that illuminates the work piece in dark areas.
The 36618-02 is covered by the ProVantage three-year protection plan. Two years of battery protection and one year of tool protection are covered by this guarantee. This plan includes two years of free battery replacements, tool replacement for one year, and a free tool repair service during the second and third years.

This is the drill/driver I bought after doing a thorough 18 v drill driver comparison. The other day I was on top of the ladder and I was glad I updated to lithium-ion. The weight factor over NiCad is a major plus. The clutch works well when driving screws and the chuck has an autolock feature that keeps bits and quick change chucks in place securely.
